Anirban Datta | About me
I've worked on delivering growth balanced with efficiency and sound unit economics, building high-quality teams and execution, building category-leading brands, creating a new category, and launching new products at scale-stage companies. I have over 20 years of experience across business strategy, P&L, growth, brand, product marketing, product, UX, and software development.
At Boardvantage (acquired by Nasdaq), I helped build a new enterprise collaboration category, growth engine, and brand that grew the SaaS business from $20M to $60M in ARR and 2500 customers, including over half of the Fortune 500 companies. I also led the launch of a second product, MeetX, to expand use cases for broader adoption in the enterprise, growing the account value of several customers, including Facebook, Walmart, and HSBC, to over $500K each.
Raise (Series-D commerce platform, marketplace, and payment app backed by $147M in funding from Accel, Bessemer, NEA, and PayPal), I launched the innovative Slide cashback payment app and platform, which unlocked new growth and generated over $50M in incremental GMV in the first year. I also steered the performance and unit economics of the $250M commerce business (#19 on a16z's 2019 list of top 100 marketplaces) and the Raise mobile wallet app. During my time, the CAC payback period accelerated from 18 to 3 months, achieved by sustained marketing and monetization efficiency combined with product improvements.
I have previously worked at eBay, Blue Martini Software, and Arthur Andersen. As a product manager, I led eBay's APIs and developer platform that helped bring in close to 60% of all listings and led product integration of Skype into eBay commerce after the acquisition.
I received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and a Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India.
